Swiftech H2O-120-FK
This Swiftech kit differs slightly from the Corsair kit, though, as it has a different pump/reservoir arrangement. In the Swiftech, the pump is already hooked up to the reservoir, which is supposed to be mounted in a free 5.25in drive bay. This saves a lot of space inside the case, and also means there's one less tube for you to worry about connecting. The Swiftech is also supplied with a helpful and detailed printed manual.
Plenty of 1/2in OD tubing is provided, along with a substantial helping of Coolsleeves. You cut these plastic coils to size, then wrap them round bends in the tubing to prevent them from kinking and restricting the flow of coolant. The Coolsleeves are remarkably effective, so top marks to Swiftech for coming up with such an innovative idea. The radiator is also very well designed because, although it's supplied with a 120mm fan, it has a universal mounting system that's also compatible with 60mm, 80mm and 92mm fan mounts. This means that, other than the Corsair, the Swiftech is the only high-performance water-cooling kit compatible with older cases that don't have a 120mm fan mount.
The FK version of the Swiftech is compatible with Athlon 64 CPUs and cooled our overclocked and overvolted Athlon 64 FX-55 to 18ûC below the reference AMD HSF. Only the much bulkier and noisier Koolance Exos and Exos-2 systems, and the triple 120mm-fan radiator Asetek kit, provided cooler temperatures.
Considering the very flexible radiator mounting mechanism, integrated pump/reservoir, Coolsleeves and superlative cooling, the Swiftech is a very desirable water-cooling kit. It's slightly more expensive than the Asetek and Corsair kits, but overall we think its higher price is justified by the superior design.
